What Types of Printers are There

There are many types of printers
out there but which one is right for you? if you to print photos
then you would probably want a Photo printer for professional looking
photos. There are printers that can fax and copy documents, this
would be good if you had a business or have to fax and copy papers a lot.
Then there are the printers with everything and it comes with the scanner
built in too. This type of printer would be great for you if you work
at home. I would suggest that if you just want to print papers and
photo's that you get a printer with the photo printing option.
What does a Scanner do?
You might not want a scanner if
you have a digital Camera but if you want to change and reprint old
photos you have Then a scanner is right for you. A scanner will
let you scan photos and documents and let you change the size, brightness
and let you crop the photo or document your scanning. You can
also send Photos online with a scanner just like a digital camera. Scanners
are also cheaper then digital cameras depending on what kind you
get.
How to Install a Printer
When you buy a printer check
to see what type of hookup you need. Today many printers require
a USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable (which you usually have to buy) and
a hookup to the computer. Most computers have this hookup in the
front or back of the computer. The number of USB ports a computer
has might very depending on computer modal. Also make sure that
your printer comes with the manufacture CD or floppy disk. This is
important to make sure your printer will print properly. Follow
these steps to install a printer.
1. Plug in the printer and hook up all of the necessary cables
and supplies (USB cords, ink cartage, paper)
2. Place the manufacture CD or floppy disk in the drive. (skip
step 3 if a setup screen appears)
3. Go to the drive on
My Computer with the CD or floppy
disk on it and click on the file that says
Setup.
4. Follow all of the institutions on the setup screen
and click install.
5. if printer prints a alignment page type the number of the line
in each row that is the most stait
6. Go to a program and type something then print it. (
If the words do are not aligned then you might have to print a align
page to fix the problem.)
7. You're done!!!!!!
How to Install a Scanner
Installing a scanner is just
like installing a printer except you have to set it up a little different.
Follow these steps to install a scanner.
1. Plug in the scanner and hook up all of the necessary cables
2. Place the manufacture CD or floppy disk in the drive. (skip
step 3 if a setup screen appears)
3. Go to the drive on

disk on it and click on the file that says
Setup.
4. Follow all of the institutions on the setup screen and click
install.
5. Go to a program and scan a document to make sure it is connected
properly

You might wonder how much ink you have in your printer
cartridges so you can decide to buy a new one or not. This is usually
a accurate method of checking printer cartridges. Follow these steps to check
ink levels.
1. Go to
My Compute then Go to
Control Panel
2. Click on
Printers and other hardware
3. Right-click on the print you want to check the ink level for and
go to
Printing Preferences
4. Click on the tab that says Maintenance
5. Look at the two pictures of the ink cartridges. Blue,
red and yellow for color. Black for black ink
6. Click
O.K
7. You're Done!!!!!
How to Print a Document
Printing a document is a simple and easy task. There are two
whys to do this. Most programs will have a printer on the
toolbar. All you have to do is press it once and your whole document
will print. If you don't want to print the whole document or if
you want to change a setting, then click on
File and go to
print
a printer menu should pop up
. Here you can set which
pages you want to print, chose which printer you want to use, of change
your printer settings. To print a document from the print menu simply
press the print button and you document will print.
