About My Computer
On your computer there is a file
called my computer. (It looks like a small computer) In this file
there are different drives. You can have many drives depending on
your computer. The drive that is almost always on there is the
C Drive or
C. This is where all of your files are on
your computer. There is also a
A drive on your
computer for floppy disk. Your CD drive can be in different drives
just remember that is is the drive with a CD next to it. None of these
drives can ever be deleted.
The C Drive
The C drive is the internal memory of your computer.
Everytime you save something you save it to the C drive. You
have memory on the C drive the amount depends on your computer. To
check how much you have simply click on the C Drive and it will show you
how much memory you have. If you don't what the letters mean then look
at the chart below.

Bytes (b) is your smallest memory unit and Gegabytes
(GB) is your biggest memory unit. If you want to delete a program
off of your computer to make more space follow these steps.
Keep in mind that some programs are important to your computer and can
not be removed.
1. Go to
My Computer and click on
Control Panel.
2. Click on
Add/Remove.
3. Select the program you want to remove and click
Remove.
5. Restart your computer if Necessary.
6. You're done!!!!!!
The Floppy Drive
Many times you have a file that you need on another
computer. There is a way simply put a 3 1/2 floppy into your floppy
drive. Floppy disk only have about 2 MB of memory, so it can only save
small files. Follow these steps to save files on a floppy disk.
1. Insert a 3 1/2 floppy disk into your floppy drive.
2. Go to where the files you want are.
3. Right click on each file and click on
Send To then click
on
3 1/2in. Floppy.
4. You're done!!!!
How to Install a Program
Installing a program is easy but first make sure
that your computer meets the programs requirements. Then follow these
directions to install a program.
1. Insert the program CD into your CD tray. (A setup screen should
appear.)
2. Read the license agreement and click
Yes or
I agree
to continue.
3. Select a location for your program on the C Drive
4. Select where you want it on your programs menu.
5. Click install
6. You're Done!!!!!
