Instead of having a gray taskbar and window you can have a blue, sliver or green taskbar and window or if you would like you can change it to classic window's to have the improved Window's 98   taskbar and window. Follow these steps to change your taskbar into a different color.  

  1. Right click and go to Properties   
  2. Click on the Appearance tab.  
  3. Click on the Color scheme tab and chose the color you want.  
  4. Click the Apply button.  
  5. Click O.K.  
  6. You're Done!!!!!!
    
    When you have many items running at one time your computer will automatically group them into one tab on the taskbar instead of multiple tabs.  Just click it once to go to a different window in that category.


    Window's Xp comes with a new and improved start menu to make it easier for you.  Everytime you open a program it will keep a shortcut to it on your start menu.  If you don't want it there just right-click and go to Remove from this list.   This is where you will also find  My Computer and Control Panel.   Your personal folders like My Documents and My Pictures
are also here.   The new start menu is is easy and user friendly

    Worried about fixing a problem or just want to change something on your computer.  Then all you have is click Start and go to Help and Support .  Here you can find out how to change specific problems on your computer.  If you can't fix it you can let a friend or support professional view your screen and fix it for you.  There are also updates so that your computer is working right and flawless.  


    A new feature with Windows Xp is Plug in play.  If you hook up a new printer or a digital camera  a wizard will automatically start.  All you have to do is answer a few questions and maybe insert the manufacture disk.  Your computer will do the rest.  You could be sharing photos or printing in minutes.

    Your computer can play DVD's (if your computer has a DVD drive) in high definition sound and great color .  SoundMAX improves the sound quality of your computer.  So you get a crisp clear sound.  You can also use the DVD-Rom features on your computer.   The picture quality is enhanced to make it look like it was on T.V.


    Do you want to download a program but it is designed for a earlier version of Window's.  With Window's Xp you can download programs from a earlier version of Window's.  All you have to do is install it like you would on  your old computer and  your program will be working.  You can do this on the internet too when your downloading.


    Now you can feel safer because your computer comes with a built in firewall which will prevent hackers from getting into your computer.  If you are connect to a home Network it will also protect those computers as well,  So everybody can enjoy the internet on your network safely


    The Control Panel is easy to use.  Everything is category to make it easier to change a setting.  You can go to
User Accounts and Make a password, change your picture or change your name on your account.  Installing hardware and programs is easier to with Add/Remove Programs and  Printers and other Hardware.   There are many more options you can chose from.
